Try Out the New Paved Trail

Earlier this summer, contractors completed the blacktop surface to create an ADA accessible paved trail at Magee Park. This work is part of Phase 1 improvements at the park. Coulee River Trails volunteers in partnership with two community planners from the Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance program of the National Park Service drafted a concept plan for the park which the city adopted in 2022. A grant from the Knowles Nelson Stewardship fund made it possible to build the parking lot and paved trail. Future connections will extend the trail system south to Pine Coulee Nature Preserve and north to a new development at the corner of Walnut and Dexter streets. Special thanks to Prescott's city staff and council members for having the vision to make this a reality!
